Kick Me When I’m Down, 2021

These works were produced due to inspiration from an ex-gang member friend of Wootton-Davies’, he started by conducting interviews with Mr Ali Moursy about his experiences of knife crime. In contrast Wootton-Davies recorded a conversation about his own assault and mugging with his brother, Darcy Wootton-Davies. Creating a juxtaposition of masculinity and vulnerability.

Wootton-Davies presents the work in a set like environment, projecting the recorded interviews onto painted canvases.
